Model United Nations (MUN) is an international activity that is participated in by tens of thousands of schools on every continent. MUN is an activity that seeks to simulate some of the real-world debate, diplomacy and discussion of the actual United Nations.
When students participate in MUN, they learn to think critically and divergently about current and past world issues. They also learn to work together to seek common solutions, re-define problems and creatively imagine how the future of our world could look. MUN is an activity which shapes future leaders, looks fantastic on a university application, and provides opportunities for growth for our students.
We regularly participate in weekly training. This training sets the foundation for understanding some of the issues students may encounter during a debate or conference. We also train our students on how to write resolutions, act as committee chairs, and participate in structured debate.
Within Egypt, we regularly participate in conferences at Cairo American College, Hayah International Academy, and the British International School of Cairo. In addition, we are planning to host our second ever conference in 2023. Also in 2023, our program will travel to Rome, Italy for an international conference with students from around the world.
